HVAC Heat Pumps
Heat Pump HVAC systems provide both heating and cooling while reducing energy use and improving the comfort of your home.
Program Requirements:
- Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) certified
- Efficiency rating of 17 SEER (16.2 SEER2) or higher and 10 HSPF (8.5 HSPF2) of higher
- Rebate amount: $1,500 per unit ($2,000 per unit if existing natural gas heater is removed)
- Estimated project cost: $5,000 - $40,000
- Federal tax incentive: Up to $2,600 (appliance and panel upgrade)
- TECH Clean CA incentive: $1,000 per system with limit 2 for single family, varies for multi-family (must use participating contractor)

Weatherization
Weatherizing your home is an important step to reduce heat flow, saving on heating and cooling costs while improving comfort.
Program Requirements:
- Attic Insulation: Final insulation R-Value of R-38 or greater
- Wall Insulation: Final insulation R-Value of R-13 or greater
- Windows: Double-pane replacement windows with U-Value 0.32 or less and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) 0.25 of less
- Only for existing buildings
- Rebate amount: $0.35-1.50 per square foot
- Federal tax incentive: Up to $1,200 (windows and insulation)
- BayREN rebate (for PG&E gas customers): $0.70-0.75 per square foot for insulation, $150 for air sealing, and $500 for duct replacement (must use a BayREN Participating Contractor)
- California Department of Community Services and Development weatherization services for low-income residents
Smart Thermostat
Save money on heating and cooling by installing a smart thermostat that can be programmed any time from your smart phone.
Program Requirements:
- ENERGY STAR® certified and web‐enabled
- Only for existing buildings with standard programmable or manual thermostat
- Rebate amount: $50
Laundry
The average American family washes about 300 loads of laundry each year. Save on energy and water costs with high efficiency laundry appliances.
Program Requirements:
- Washer: Front loading only, ENERGY STAR® Most Efficient or CEE Tier 2 or above
- Dryer: Electric only, ENERGY STAR® certified
- Rebate amount: $75-175
Heat Pump Water Heater
Heat pump water heaters can be 2 to 3 times more efficient than conventional water heaters.
Program Requirements:
- ENERGY STAR® certified
- 3.30 Unified Energy Factor or higher
- Rebate amount: $1,500 per unit ($2,000 per unit if existing natural gas heater is removed)
- Estimated project cost: $3,000 - $9,000
- Federal tax incentive: Up to $2,600 (appliance and panel upgrade)
- CLEAN Tech CA incentive: $3,100+ for single family, varies for multi-family (must use participating contractor)

Electric Cooktop/Stove
Using an electric cooktop or stove instead of natural gas can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create a safer home.
Program Requirements:
- Electric resistance or induction cooktop/stoves are eligible
- Homes with an existing electric cooktop/stove are not eligible
- Rebate amount: $500
- Estimated project cost: $1,000 - $8,000

Pool Pump Rebate
Variable speed pool pumps can run at different speeds and be programmed to match your pool's needs with appropriate speed.
Program Requirements:
- Only for existing in-ground pools with existing single speed motor
- Rebate amount: $125

Financing
- GoGreen Financing: Administered by the State of California, GoGreen Financing puts energy efficiency upgrades within reach, with attractive rates and terms and no property liens. Upgrade your home or small business with an efficient heating and cooling system, insulation, new windows, cool roof and more. Looking to decarbonize your home? Residents can finance heat pumps and induction ranges through GoGreen Home. (En español)
- Energy Independence Program: The Sonoma County Energy Independence Program offers financing to property owners for energy efficiency, water efficiency and renewable energy improvements through a voluntary assessment. These assessments will be attached to the property, not the owner and will be paid back through the property tax system over time, making the program not only energy efficient but also affordable.
- California Department of Community Services & Development: Low-income customers may qualify for additional State programs that support energy efficiency and weatherization.

- TECH Clean California provides incentives for heat pump HVAC systems ($1,000-2,000) and water heaters ($3,100+), and an approved contractor network. Multi-family incentives are also available.

- Enervee's IDEAL Marketplace helps consumers compare products and specifications on energy use and energy costs.
- Smarter House provides details on energy efficient products and projects.
Solar
- Use the sun to generate your own electricity. Electricity generated by your solar PV system directly reduces the amount of energy you need to purchase from your utility. Expedited permitting is available. Lear more about solar installations here.
- Federal tax credits up to 30% are available to help with the installation costs of your PV system and/or battery storage system.
- Self-Generation Incentive Program offers rebates for battery storage. Must be a PG&E customer - If PG&E gas-only customer and Healdsburg Electric customer, must indicate 'solar operational' mode in application documents.
