Located in the heart of Sonoma County's Wine Country, the Villa Chanticleer is easy access from Highway 101 and only 3 miles from the town's historic Plaza Park. Features

The breathtaking view from the dining room overlooks rolling wine country hills. The entrance is graced by a full arbor of luxurious wisteria in the spring and a sheared velvet lawn. The Villa has an adjacent smaller annex and a lovely outdoor wedding garden, complete with a gazebo. A new children's playground has been added to enhance the area.

Rent the Villa

The Villa Chanticleer may be booked 2 years in advance to aid in your future planning. The Villa is unique because it can accommodate large and small parties. The ballroom has a large stone fireplace at its center and the dining room has a more open, lighter ambiance. • Main Villa - The 11,000 square foot Villa is an ideal setting for a large business meeting, community fundraiser or wedding reception as it seats 632 people.
• Outdoor Event Garden - The garden features a gazebo, lush lawn, walkways and landscaping.
• Villa Annex - The 36 foot by 64 foot building is used for various recreation classes with 150 seating capacity however it can accommodate up to 200 for meetings or special events.

Villa History

The Villa Chanticleer's colorful history began in 1910 when it was established as a gathering place for San Francisco's French elite. As many as 200 people would take the horse and buggy ride up the hill to the resort, which at that time consisted of a screened dining pavilion and numerous vacation cabins. The Villa enjoyed a widespread reputation as an exclusive vacation resort until the 40's when it was rumored to have fallen into the hands of shady underworld figures.

Today, this historic gathering place is available to business, industry, educational and recreational groups as a meeting and event place. Overlooking breathtaking Alexander Valley, this 17 acre forested setting, with its wisteria-vined verandah, provides a peaceful surrounding, whatever your needs. Playground areas are also on the premises, along with an adjacent, smaller Annex and 2 breakout cabins.

Dog Park

The 1 1/2 acre enclosed dog park at Villa Chanticleer features plenty of parking as well as water and shade.

The Healdsburg Dog Park Committee, a group of community volunteers, worked with the city over a 3 year period to create 2 off-leash areas and improved leash laws. The funds to create these 2 dog parks on city property were raised through the Healdsburg Dog Park Fund at the Community Foundation Sonoma County. All donations to the "Dog Park Fund" are tax deductible.
