[ARCHIVED] Sept. 24 Public Workshop: Energy, Sustainability & Buildings

Reach Code Workshop Sept 2019

The City of Healdsburg is researching a proposed ordinance -- a "reach code" --  to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency in newly constructed houses and buildings.  Please join us at the Community Center on Tuesday, September 24, from 6-7:30 p.m. for an interactive workshop.  Bonus: We will also have a great raffle prize at the end of the workshop!

Discussion topics include:

  • reach-code ordinance options;
  • new energy-wise technology;
  • costs and savings to builders and homeowners

Why Are We Doing This?

Every three years, cities and counties across California adopt the new building-standards code or Title 24 of the state's code of regulations. Municipalities may adopt building codes more advanced than those required by the state, which are known as reach codes.

Reach codes aim to update local building codes with the state-required adoption of the 2019 standards. The next code adoption cycle, with new standards, must be adopted by the City of Healdsburg by the end of calendar year 2019.
