Let's talk about better public transportation into Healdsburg from nearby cities where the housing prices aren't so high.
Imagine someone riding a nice bus from Middletown to Healdsburg. That's one hour of reading, internet, or just thinking each way. No stress.
This doesn't address all the reasons people want affordable housing here, but it does solve some problems.
A solution focused on public transport would be (1) faster, (2) less expensive per person, (3) more scalable, and (4) more realistic (at least I think so) than trying to defy inevitable market forces created by limited housing in an increasingly popular town like Healdsburg.

A highly decorated Gulf War Veteran suffering from a service related disabilities was attacked by a prominent, local, limousine liberal in the enclave of Healdsburg, CA.
While during the previews of a local screening, a disabled veteran was verbally and physically abused by a group of men and women at the Raven Center Theatre in Healdsburg, CA.
The veteran is currently undergoing a medical observation period at the local VA Hospital, after being attacked from behind while leaving the theatre by another male patron. The attacker has not been identified by Healdsburg PD.

For those of us who live/work on this road, we have seen too many deer, birds and possums being hit by cars recently. Besides the additional fencing, i would also like more signs put up that show that deer cross almost every night.

The city needs to increase the height of the back fence to prevent property from balls being hit over fence. I've had vehicles damaged, a ball bounce off the house under my porch window, and a ball bounce behind me after I finished a jog.
Continuing to claim the damage on my insurance creates increased rates and some companies will drop customers. Not to mention if one of these balls hits one of the kids that live in this area the issues that might araise from the city knowing about an issue and failing to take action.
Please put a fence up.

If we fund a bond it should be based on a per dwelling fee not based on the value.
But we need to expect the rents to go up to cover the additional cost. And large portions of residents are retired and on fixed income, so are we just increasing the problem by increasing their cost. They may be the first to need affordable housing.
Does Healdsburg have to solve affordable housing? I’m sure if we build 1,000 affordable houses they would sell in a week. But that would not be a solution, as the next 1,000 families would be waiting.
Maybe a better solution is transportation between the cities in Sonoma County. Low cost rail transpiration is a better solution.
Lets not approve a bond issue until we know the answers, is it going to solve the problem? We have already tried to solve this 3 times with poor results.
I don’t have the answers but getting funding before you have answers is not the answer.

The post show fireworks that were shot off more than an hour past the end of the show. I called the Police Department and they didn't know why a second and third barrage of fireworks occurred but they said they were "assuming the Fire Marshal was on site and authorizing the fireworks to go off."
I contacted the Lance MacDonald after the fire department did not answer its phones at all and at 11:41pm Mr. MacDonald said that "the fireworks had to be set off as they couldn't be stored."
I told Marshal MacDonald that in our family we'd taken out pet and had left town until the show was over because of the trauma the fireworks cause in pets and that we'd returned and without ANY warning or public information City authorized fireworks went off on multiple times between and hour and an hour and a half after the regular show. He apologized for them going off and said he "thought they were just about done".
No use of Nexel or any other social media but simply a HUGE mistake.

Dear Ms. Hunt,
I am contacting senior/community centers in the U.S. and Canada as part of a charity drive. Would you consider printing out the flyer located at [www.srbrown.info/flyer.pdf] and posting it on a bulletin board in your facility? It asks people to knit squares that will be used for afghans that will be distributed to poor families of students in Mexico who are being sponsored by Project Amigo [www.projectamigo.org]. This is a charity that supports students from Colima in rural western Mexico so that they can create their own educational opportunities and better their quality of life. The pattern and instructions on where to send the knitted squares are on a website that is listed on the flyer.
Thank you for your help.

As in many places within California housing can be expensive. There are no quick answers but still a lot of questions:
This is a never-ending problem. There are areas where I can’t afford to live in; New York City, San Francisco, Paris, and many others. So I didn’t look there.
What is considered affordable living? Zillow has the median home value in Healdsburg at $881,600 I think that may be low.
How many affordable living dwellings are there in Healdsburg? As I walk the town I find apartments tucked away all over, down allies and behind houses. Does anyone have a count?
How many dwellings are there in Healdsburg? I’ve heard between 4,500 and 4,900. We need to know.
If the city is subsidizing affordable living should it be rental or sold?
If it is sold who gets the profit when it is resold?
Rental seems to be the best solution; by renting we don’t have an issue of resale and then having to solve a continual problem.
Who selects the family that gets the housing? And how?

What kind of access will citizens of Healdsburg have to the proposed "common amenity building with food and beverage service, a fitness facility and a pool"?
I would be open to a locals access for a fee if it is not a public facility.
