Celebrate Pride Month
Last year in June of 2021, the City of Healdsburg issued a proclamation and engaged the community in our first Pride flag-raising ceremony, to honor the LGBTQIA+ community and to celebrate Pride Month. This year we will continue this tradition by raising the Pride flag and having a ceremony with Mayor Jimenez giving remarks. Mayor Jimenez will be joined by the City Council. Please join us in celebrating the influence and achievements of the LGBTQIA+ community at 5:30 pm on June 6, 2022, in front of City Hall.

Healdsburg's Power Supply
This week, City staff submitted to the California Energy Commission Healdsburg’s generation sources for the calendar year 2021. In 2021 renewable energy generation increased due largely to the City’s floating solar project and improved output from the geothermal plants. This pushed Healdsburg’s Standard Energy Rate from roughly 32% renewable to over 45% renewable energy. Higher levels of renewable energy help lower Healdsburg’s GHG emissions and stem climate change. With future projects under contract, renewable and carbon-free energy sources will continue to increase over the next several years.
Water Conservation
Lake Mendocino is approaching 50,000 acre feet of storage, 14,000AF more than 2021’s peak storage mark. The increase in storage is largely due to inflows from the Potter Valley Project and Sonoma Water’s limited releases from the Lake. These efforts have helped to improve water supplies but won’t entirely prevent the need for conservation this summer. With current, city-wide conservation levels hovering at around 20%, we ask that you keep up the good work by prudently and responsibly managing the irrigation of your landscapes. Current restrictions limit outdoor irrigation to Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday and during the evening and early morning hours only. Water saved today is the water we’ll need later this fall.
