Celebrating the Life of Kevin Burke

Group of people in plaza park

Today, the City of Healdsburg celebrated the incredible life of Retired Chief of Police Kevin Burke. The ceremony was attended by Kevin’s family, friends, elected officials, community members, law enforcement agencies, and emergency responders from near and far.  Kevin served the Healdsburg community for 11 years as Chief of Police and is remembered as a caring friend, devoted public servant, loving son, brother, uncle, nephew, and cousin. He was a one-of-a-kind human being and will be incredibly missed by all who knew him.

Public Service Recognition Week is a time to thank the dedicated public servants of federal, state and local governments across the country for their commitment to the communities they serve. The City’s Employee Appreciation Committee was in attendance and accepted the proclamation on behalf of its employees.

Fire Fuels Management

Fire Fuels Management

On Friday April 29, 2022, the Healdsburg Fire Department conducted a pile burning of dried fuels at the top of Fitch Mountain to reduce the fuel load. Many thanks to everyone who participated including CalFire, Northern Sonoma County Fire District Fuels Crew, COPE volunteers, and Supervisor James Gore. We also want to extend our thanks to the Dry Creek Rancheria who assisted by covering the station and the City while our crews were on the mountain.
